Bothan Bar

Bothan Bar is the latest development at the multi-award winning Ice Factor. The bar is open from 11am until late. With hundreds of thousands of hungry and thirsty mountaineers and walkers from the West Highland Way, a state of the art climbing centre and a brewery next door it was a fairly logical next step in our business. The bar is above the shop in our old bouldering area (which has now moved into a new area behind reception) giving wonderful views of the Mamores and down Loch Leven. Internally the bar commands fine views of the main climbing areas, so you can sit back at the end of your day and watch the world go by or up! Inside we have invested heavily in building a warm smoke free zone, specially designed with the mountaineering community in mind. Local materials were sourced for the bar with floors of Scottish Oak and Ballachulish slate. But the main feature in Bothams is the old steel beam which has now been restored and back lit, creating a stunning frame for the Mamore Mountains. A wood burning stove, subtle lighting and soft suede and leather couches complete the atmosphere for a great night. We stock a full range of real ales from our neighbour, the award winning Atlas Brewery - so look out for Blizzard, Three Sisters, Nimbus, Latitude and other guest ales. In response to demands from customers we will be serving food until late - a full menu until 9pm and then a range of fresh baked pizzas until closing time. The menus will change regularly, but will feature a wide range of freshly cooked food - including Loch Leven Shellfish, Venison and Bannoffi Cream Pie.
